Quiet Summer

I was able to spend all summer in Nevada. Love it out there, but still dealing with my lung cancer. I will be spending the winter in Maryland. JT will be in Nevada. Life is good and our grandson is wonderful.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all friends, new and old!!!

2017 Winter is far from over...UGH

The heat wave is over for a little while. Back to snow. Hopefully we
can have a slow normal melt that does not do anymore damage.
The road to the rv will take a lot of work this spring. All around the
rv is a mess, ruts in the mud from the truck and atv. Today the wind
must have been fierce as the wind turbine was on the ground,
the guy wires were broken.

Just another thing to fix in the spring. It is not easy living out
in the high desert. This climate is rough on vehicles, equipment and
every day living. Route 233 is open twice a day with an escort.

Pilot is passable but very rough.

JT will be fine. His knowledge and mechanical skills will
keep everything working. The quicker I can get out there full time,
the easier it will be for him and me.

21 mile video

Montello flooding and 21 mile Dam breaks

Lady reporter is inaccurate.  Water is currently running North.  When dam reaches town it will
come from the North and run south through town.

Montello Snow

This is JT stuck on Pilot Valley road trying to help Rich who was stuck 1/4 mile up.

Facebook post Monday Jan 23 Driving from SLC airport.  JT  "80 was pretty bad in places and Pequot for sure. Past the folks working on the RR switch on 233 . Wonder if they are moving yet ? Oh yeah . Very windy here."

Tuesday Jan 24 late afternoon:
"We are all out now. I got stuck just past my back driveway in front of the Bryant's and Rich was about a quarter mile in front. Troy and Curt came out with the backhoe and pulled us out."

Tammy Price "They plowed from the interstate to the JLJ Ranch turn off. We had thought it might be better for us to come home that way but sounds just as bad as our way before they plowed. "

Spike and Nancy pictures stuck up by their place.  3 ft drifts. a big mess.

The main feeling in Montello and Pilot Valley after today. Please excuse the language!

The Sun beaming down on us!

This picture was taken by our neighbor Jusitna Folletz. The sun is shinning down from the clouds on Horseshoe Flats, also called Area 52 and our property. Very surreal. It was a chilly morning as it got down to 42. Life in the high desert is always a struggle, but the natural beauty is amazing.
