Once the land was purchased we needed to decide what type of home we wanted. A log cabin was our first choice but is it practical in Montello? Not ready to make a decision we began searching for travel trailers, motorhomes and 5th wheels. We researched the internet for a listing of 4 season trailers and went to our local rv show for more information. It was decided that a 5th wheel travel trailer would work perfectly as a temporary home. Thanks to ebay we located and bid on a brand new 2008 Ameri-camp Summit Ridge. Shockingly we were the only bidder and got it for an unbelievable low price ("we stole it" per the rv dealer).
Already owning a diesel F-250 truck, all we had to do was add a 5th wheel hitch and pick up our new home. JT drove 265 miles to Danville, Va on March 5,2009 to have the hitch installed and to pick up the 5th wheel. He drove it home that evening, and we had our future home in the driveway of our current home.
It was love at first site for me. No regrets!!! A comfortable and practical home that if needed we could live in for a long time. Maybe even permanently. Storage space is limited , but then again, once we move to Montello who needs a lot of stuff. Life will be simpler, and both of us are ready for that!!

That thing is sweet! Wish we could afford that. We've looked into some smaller versions, maybe a good deal will come our way.
Very nice...I picked mine up at a estate sale for $1800.00 in very good shape..
Good choice looking forward to meeting you two.
